For the 2008 Season, Holiday Farm will be expanding the Garden in cooperation with John & Peg in order to reach more of our community. The CSA makes the connection between the consumer and the grower. All members share equally in the harvest and are equally essential to the success of The Garden!!! Over 50 vegetable varieties, flowers and herbs.

Here is the basic information to answer some of your questions:

Where is the Garden? At Holiday Farm, off Rte.9 in Dalton.

How does it work? You will buy a share of the season's harvest, and then receive a weekly distribution of produce from the beginning of June through the end of October.

What constitutes a share? We offer two share sizes. A large share is intended to feed a small family, say, two adults and 1 or 2 young children. And since we recognize that the world is not made exclusively of families, we offer a small share which is intended to feed one adult or to supplement a small home garden.

What is the price? Large shares are $400 and equilvalent to about a 1/2 bushel of vegetables. Small shares are $225 and equal to 1/4 bushel.Some crops such as cherry tomatoes, peas, green beans, herbs & flowers are pick-your-own. The PYO gives everyone the chance to get into the Garden (if you have mobility issues, we are happy to lend a hand!).

When are distributions? Distributions are at the Garden on Tuesdays from 4 - 6p.m., Thursdays from 4-6pm and Saturdays from 10a.m. - 12. You will choose one of these as your pick-up time.

What veggies will we get? At least 50 varieties of vegetables(arugula to zucchini), cutting flowers and herbs. We have lots of unusual vegetables (don't worry we will have recipes!), but we also have plenty of your old favorites.

Will we be expected to work? All able members are asked to help in the barn at two or more distribution days during the season. There is no expectation of gardening work. However, eager hands and company are always welcome in the garden. Come to the monthly Work Day, or arrange directly with us to help with garden tasks.
