We will deliver 1 cord locally to Dalton at no extra charge. Delivery to surrounding towns (Windsor, Pittsfield, Lenox, etc.) will have an extra charge, unless you place an order of 2 or more cords. We will deliver anywhere in Berkshire County.

Processing
Standard fire wood length is 16". We can cut wood up to 22" for the same price as the standard cut, but wood cut less than 16" will have an extra charge for the work involved in processing.

STILL “GREEN” WHEN IT’S DRY
Sustainable Forestry means that the low value trees have to be cut (thinned) in order to encourage the growth of the well-formed, desirable trees. While these trees may not be straight enough for the sawmill, they are plenty straight for firewood. They are also part of the current carbon cycle- this means that the energy this firewood produces does not increase greenhouse gasses and global warming.

HAY

We sell both first cutting and second cutting.
Some of our fields are native grasses and others are newly seeded to Timothy/Alfalfa. We also bale Oat and Rye Straw when we have it available.

COMPOST

The organic nutrients in compost feed the soil as well as the plants. Bacteria, fungus and a host of beneficial micro-invertebrates (worms and nemitodes) break down the leaves and manure releasing nutrients in a stable form that remain available to plants much longer than soluble commercial fertilizers. Compost also improves the soil's ability to retain water. Our compost is primarily leaf/yard waste and animal manure.
